A Rich Historical Legacy

The Story of Weltevreden Manor

Built in 1994 by Tim and Ingrid Cawood, Weltevreden Manor holds significant historical value. Tim, who fell in love with the countryside at a young age, made this estate his lifelong project. The manor is a testament to his dedication, with handcrafted woodwork and materials sourced from historic locations such as an abolished stadium in Port Elizabeth.

A Family Legacy

The manor has been a cherished family estate for decades, filled with memories of love, laughter, and joy. Today, Tim and Ingrid’s daughter, Nicky Cawood, continues the family tradition of hospitality and service. Having spent years in the yachting industry, Nicky brings a wealth of experience in guest accommodation and service delivery to Weltevreden Manor.

The Future of Weltevreden Manor

Plans for a Boutique Hotel

While currently offering luxury self-catering accommodations, Nicky dreams of transforming Weltevreden Manor into a boutique hotel. This future development will provide all-inclusive packages, further enhancing the guest experience and offering a luxurious hideaway in the hills of Curry’s Post.

I really enjoyed this place.

4.0/ 5

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at this peaceful retreat. Despite the challenging road leading to the location, the journey is manageable. The room I stayed in was impeccably clean, tidy, comfortable, and exquisitely decorated. Although it’s a self-catering accommodation, the complimentary sherry wine and thoughtful amenities added a touch of luxury to my experience. Throughout my stay, the WiFi access remained stable and reliable. I highly recommend this place, with ratings of: Rooms: 4.0 Service: 4.0 Location: 4.0 Hotel highlights include a great view and a romantic ambiance. The rooms are clean, tidy, welcoming, and lovely. However, it’s worth noting that the location is quite remote. While the map may suggest otherwise, nearby attractions may be further away than anticipated.
